Nestled in a quaint setting, Pastaria & Market offers a delightful dining experience. While the small space might feel a bit cozy on warm days, their accommodating staff made up for it. Despite our tardiness, they graciously held our table, a testament to their excellent service. While the handmade pasta is undoubtedly a highlight, be prepared for a slightly longer wait. The flavors are exquisite, although personal preference may dictate how one enjoys the al dente texture. The appetizers and bread were standout favorites, and the cocktails were expertly crafted. Ultimately, Pastaria & Market is a charming spot for a leisurely Italian meal. Just remember to plan ahead on hot days and be prepared for a slightly longer wait for your handcrafted dishes. The flavors and friendly service make it a worthwhile experience.
My husband and I finally tried out The Pastaria and Market- it's been on my husband's need to try list for a while. Our servicer was super friendly and knowledgeable. All the dishes were delicious. The portions were all very generous including the seafood pasta. The noodle was nice and chewy. Very nice ambiance, but the tables are very close to each other. We definitely want to take our kids when they come home.
As always, we had a lovely visit. Caprese Salad: Fresh heirloom tomatoes, very tasty. Pasta Primavera: Fabulous, perfectly balanced flavors chock full of vegetables. I was grateful they don't use bell pepper as many primavera dishes do. Walnut Pesto Pasta: Absolutely delicious. Banana Pudding: Surprisingly good and a delightful way to end the meal, especially if you don't really like bananas. Service: Amazing. Cindy was excellent, a true 10. Donna went above and beyond by offering a complimentary dessert due to a small reservation mix-up. The fact that she remembered our last visit added a really nice touch. Truly impressed with the attention to detail! Ambience 10+
Good food and good service! I will say the prices are pretty steep but it is in Downtown Los Gatos so the prices are probably due to the location. Highly recommend trying their frosé (frozen rose) and their Tagliatelle & Truffle Cream Sauce. I will definitely be coming back!
After wine tasting at Testarossa just down the street, we were in the mood for some Italian food and I had heard good things about this spot. We decided to give it a try and I was really happy with our experience. The location is nice if you're already in Los Gatos, but going out of your way to visit could put you in some headache traffic depending on the time and where you're coming from. The thing that stood out the most was that the servers were so friendly and personable. I had pleasant conversations with multiple staff members just on my way to the restroom and I'm not a particularly chatty person. Their specials were great and everything we ordered was really tasty. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly by my judgment and the portions were solid. My only knock against them might be prices, but that's just what you get eating out in Los Gatos so I don't hold it against them. There are definitely more expensive, less satisfying meals in the near vicinity (without naming names). Overall, I look forward to returning the next time we're looking to have dinner in the area after wine tasting.
I had been wanting to try the pastaria forever and finally made it over!! We made a reservation through open table but last minute added an extra person. The host was nice and accommodating! Our server was Jack and he was awesome! He made great recommendations and was attentive and nice. There honestly wasn't one food item that we ordered that wasn't amazing. I did the truffle cream cheese tagliatelle and absolutely loved it. The portions were huge! Other memorable dishes: spicy garlic bread, artichoke dip, gnocchi. They have gluten free pasta available for a $4 upcharge. It is fettuccine and our server assured us it is cooked in different water and you can substitute it in any pasta dish. The ONLY thing I didn't love about the meal was the drinks- I didn't realize that they don't have a full liquor license so I got a lavender lemonade that tasted mostly like sugar sink the vodka is actually a rice wine. I would definitely get wine next time with my meal instead. Overall loved it and will be back!
How have I not done a review sooner?!!! A couple years ago I ordered Pastaria and market for my mom's birthday, her neighbors called and text me asking where I ordered the delicious Italian food I was happy to let them know from a local woman owned business. I just finished my meal and now I'm enjoying my frozen rose in the sunshine it happens to be 88° tonight. After, a stressful week the first place I thought of to put on a little lip and a dress was Pastaria and Market. On cooler nights I have sat inside enjoyed the beautiful decor (the little touches) that show the owner Donna has thought of everything, she is welcoming and attentive to her staff. This perfect date night restaurant, can accompany groups and also quaint enough for the single person who wants to treat themselves after a long day. Several people walked by as I twisted my pasta into bite rounds and said they commented "that looks amazing" and it was delightful! I will return and continue to recommend Pastaria and market to friends and family.
We've been wanting to try some new Italian places and this one did not disappoint! The ambiance in this restaurant was really nice. Our server (I unfortunately didn't get his name) was amazing! Super friendly and quick with everything. To drink I got their Frosé which was delicious! I liked the guava that was mixed with it. My husband had a merlot to drink which he enjoyed. For my entree, I got the tagitelle bolognese. It had great flavor and the noodles were cooked al dente. It came with a giant pile of parmesan on top which is definitely the way to my heart - lol! My husband got the burrata pizza and thought that was very tasty. Overall we really liked this place and definitely plan on coming back!
